Disturbing to me. Therapists should not be meeting your sadness with their own. Perhaps sheās has similar unhealed issues?
@LnzyHou I remember my sister saying way back in the day that she was required to do therapy prior to her licensure as a therapist.
You cannot give away something you donāt own.

Crying with the client is way past empathy. Itās unhealed issues of their own.

People donāt realize they have the right to ask if therapists have done their own work? And the nature of that work? If they refuse, I refuse.
I learned this from a great therapist I worked with weekly for 5+ years.
