Do dentists do anything any more, besides making their staff clean your teeth, and referring you to more specialized practitioners?
I have a cavity. I want it filled. I do not want multiple sessions of teeth cleaning. To begin with, I'm pretty sure that's how I got the fucking cavity.
Fuck's sake.
I keep having dentists clean my teeth until there's no coverage left, then having to wait a year for coverage, then having them say they want to clean my teeth first.
FFUUUCK!
For starters, maybe scratching at my teeth with hardened steel picks might possibly not be good for them! What kind of racket is this?
I had a wisdom tooth that needed out, and the dentist wanted to wait until I'd had all my teeth cleaned. 3 out of 4 cleanings in, it abscessed and had to be pulled anyway - by an oral surgeon!
What the fuck does a dentist even do any more?
The one dentist who even cleaned my teeth _themselves_ accidentally injected my facial nerve and almost maimed me.

@AskTheDevil recent hauntingly similar experience. Is it an independent dentist or a franchise dental practice?
Also, it’s disgusting that it’s a separate insurance coverage. Like I’ve had three spinal surgeries. Paid $250 out of pocket after my insurance. Total out of pocket. $250. Custom titanium mesh, rods, screws, a whole prosthetic cervical disc…
So tell me why a deep dental cleaning is $650 out of pocket? Just for the cleaning that they “have to do” before the dentist will do his job.
I think most of it is certainly straight up fraud. / jmo
@mims @AskTheDevil dental care is healthcare. Why the fuck do I need to pay for extra plans for my teeth and eyeballs? Those came standard with my make and model.
we should demand to change it to PART of REGULAR healthcare ALONG WITH VISION CARE
as soon as we are past the election, clean house in SCOTUS and get rid of the filibuster..
This next congress is going to have it's hands collectively full. As will Joe.
@mims @AskTheDevil Glad if I have a stroke the doctor won’t refer me out to someone else before just fucking dealing with it. And with the great health insurance I have, it will be less than any one of my teeth having a routine anything.
