A patientās relative approached me today asking for some help with an issue they encountered in another department. While I was getting her the right contact information, her eyes kept cutting to the patient call terminal, telemetry monitors, and pneumatic tube station which all alarm in a maddening syncopation nonstop all day. Indeed itās also joined by bed alarms, chair alarms, the dying strains of a rolling workstation, pagers, phones, voceras, overhead š codes, yelling patients, etc.
@MotherDucker
People not familiar with it get low-grade panicked that no one is paying attention to alarms, too.
She looked back at me. āSo you just sit here all day and listen to this?ā
āAmong other things.ā
āSure, but how do you not want to smash things?ā
My good madam, who says I donāt?!
