Came in today expecting to be in ICU. Floated instead to Med/Surg. Itās not a bad float but I really donāt like not knowing where Iām going until itās go time. Iām the type that needs to mentally prepare for about 10 minutes at minimum.
Lots of Code Violets for a Saturday.
@MotherDucker I am the same way. Plus in ICU, you have a totally different workflow with 2 super intense patients as opposed to spreading yourself around for 6 or more. That's a lot of diets, labs and glucose checks etc. I'm sure you have your organization method but it is different. Plus, knowing where things are on a different floor is a challenge. Things that should be easy take twice as long bc they aren't where you thought & by the time you find it, you have three more call lights. ā¤ļø
