Came in today expecting to be in ICU. Floated instead to Med/Surg. Itā€™s not a bad float but I really donā€™t like not knowing where Iā€™m going until itā€™s go time. Iā€™m the type that needs to mentally prepare for about 10 minutes at minimum.

@MotherDucker I am the same way. Plus in ICU, you have a totally different workflow with 2 super intense patients as opposed to spreading yourself around for 6 or more. That's a lot of diets, labs and glucose checks etc. I'm sure you have your organization method but it is different. Plus, knowing where things are on a different floor is a challenge. Things that should be easy take twice as long bc they aren't where you thought & by the time you find it, you have three more call lights. ā¤ļø
