#Cosobookclub have you ever bought books from ThriftBooks? What was your experience?
I ordered 3 books all in “very good” condition but not one of them is what I would consider very good. One is barely acceptable—several pages are taped in and there are holes worn in the book cover. Is this typical from Thriftbooks?
Can you return them? I purchased dvds through them and they were fine. Just put in a second order. * crosses fingers *
@KazzyH the dvds I ordered were exceptional. The books… yikes
Thanks for letting us know! I have a list of books that I want but $$$.
i have ordered from them several times and always been quite pleased with getting what i expected, and pretty quick.
i don't think this is typical, or at least it didn't used to be.
@MotherDucker It is a Thrift Book store. The pics of that book doesn't look that bad. Didn't you see the pics before buying it? It gives it character.
@Kittiekatt53 I totally understand that it’s thrifting but on their site they have a breakdown of what constitutes condition of the book. I paid $9.56 for very good. When the acceptable price was set at 4 and change. So essentially I paid more than I should have. Lesson learned but I am just disappointed that by their own descriptions of condition, it was inaccurate.
Also I picked up a book at a library sale today for $1.00 and it was pristine. So that’s going to be my go-to henceforth.
@MotherDucker I love going to a Library's book sale.
I guess the person that rated the books has a different opinion on what's "very good condition" and is misleading buyers.
This is my ThriftBooks “Very Good” condition purchase of The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker.
