When you were a kid, what was your favorite toy, game, or pastime?

@MotherDucker Thinking of 70s toys, 'Clackers' were a craze - a kind of mini Newton's cradle. They were taken off the market after the hard plastic was found to explode into shrapnel....

Playing cards with my grandfather. And I seem to remember spending many hours with a construction set called "Tinkertoy".

@MPCavalier I love this. I have many many cherish memories of card playing with my grandmother. Grammy was a card shark. She taught me various forms of poker, rummy, crazy 8s, euchre, and solitaire.

She used the KEM cards. When she died Pap gave me her card decks. I wept.

Nice. My grandfather was a gambler. He knew A LOT of games and a lot of ways to win. I didn't realize until I was a teen that when I had won, it was his generosity and love that let me win! Gin Rummy, canasta, pinochle (which I never really got the hang of), he was a master.
