I work all of #Christmas weekend. I also have a Christmas Crazy 5 yr old. Do I tell her that Santa comes early for kids whose moms and dads have to help patients on Christmas (#healthcareworkers) or do I just let her believe Friday is Christmas day (#fib)?
@JoyfullyDazed I work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's. I want to give her time to open and play and enjoy our first holiday in our new home. Plus, I love cooking Christmas dinner. I roast a mean orange and clove chicken. 🤤
Do whatever you need to do to make it a beautiful memory.
My favorite Christmas is the first year I knew Santa wasn't real bc I knew then it was my parents who made every Christmas magical. Your daughter will one day see it that way, too. 😊

I'm sorry you have to work through the holiday. Can you do Christmas on Christmas Eve, after work...you can say Santa stopped at your house first so the gifts arrived early. Ask her to help you pick out pajamas or something to get her away from the tree while someone puts the gifts under it, and when you get done putting pj's on you can act surprised.
Just an idea. Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure you'll make it special and memorable. 😊💞🎄
