I was given a copy of an apocalypse novel in which the main character was described as a "med student prodigy." On page four after a tsunami struck both the east and west coasts simultaneously, the main character yelled, "don't worry the UN soldiers will protect us!" By page 10 it was clear the author had not even working knowledge of medicine, disasters and disaster response, how the US government worked... Both character & author seemed to be drowning in internalized misogyny. So YEAH.
Did I mention it's a 10 book series?
