Ancillary Justice (Imperial Radch #1) by Ann Leckie
2/5 stars. Didn’t live up to its potential or it’s hype. I love space operas with AI characters, but this one disappointed me. Screenshot of my full review is in the attached image.

Ship of Magic (The Liveship Traders #1) by Robin Hobb
5/5 Stars. I read this almost a year ago I just realized I never wrote a review. I think it’s because I immediately read the next book in the series. I couldn’t put it down, and I still wish there was more of it to read.
This is adult fantasy fiction but I wouldn’t hesitate to let young adults read it. It has great character development, interesting magic, and talking ships!

Kindred by Octavia E. Butler
4/5 Stars.
Rufus never learned anything and never improved as a person. He literally had the future laid out before him and continued to behave just as his father did. I don’t think I’ve ever hated a fictional character so much.

The Library of the Unwritten (Hell’s Library #1) by A.J. Hackwith
4/5 stars. Really fun read. If you like the Thursday Next books by Jasper Fford then I think you enjoy this one too.

Pretty interesting story and I liked the Scottish setting. I didn’t write a review so the synopsis is in the attached image.

It’s getting close to the end of the year and I’ve read a lot of books.
I’m going to post a few of my reviews and if there is interest I’ll keep going.

The Wounded Kingdom is a brilliant trilogy and I recommend them to all fantasy readers. Book two {Blood of Assassins} was my least favorite but still very good. Middle books often tend to feel this way for me and I’m sure writing them is tremendously difficult.
I should also mention that the ending of this book is sad but satisfying.

Avid reader, home cook and amateur photographer. Kind of a serial hobbyist so can’t list everything.
