WTF? A “Swiss Army KNIFE” with no blade? Then what do you call it? Swiss Army Tweezer? Do they even know what their brand is?

amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/05/07/bus

@MookyTroubadour Their brand is "Victorinox" and they make pocket tools. Among the features of those tools are knife blades, as knives are the most common multi-purpose tool humans need for doing stuff.

I'm a little alarmed that anyone would see a Swiss army knife's tiny, non-locking profile as a weapon. I'd probably use my teeth as a weapon before I bothered trying to use a Swiss army knife.

@AskTheDevil yeah, and until acquired, Wenger. My point is nobody calls them that. And as you say, it’s a poor choice as a weapon anyway. You could kill someone far more easily with a slotted screwdriver. I guess we oughtta restrict those too. 🙄

@MookyTroubadour Back when I still took airplanes for travel, and after all the travel restrictions were put in place to keep dangerous things like water and nail clippers out of the hands of terrorists, I liked to play a little game with myself.

I'd look around the airplane, and count all the things I could use to kill, maim, threaten, disable the plane, other otherwise cause harm.

But then, I once beat someone blue with a rolled-up People magazine.

@AskTheDevil the irony of beating someone with a People magazine is fantastic.

@MookyTroubadour It had a nice, glossy cover that lends itself well to being "corked" (that's when you roll a newspaper or magazine very tightly, until it becomes like a solid rod).

The other person was much bigger than me and determined to beat me up, and so while they were telling me all the bad things they were going to do to me, I was rolling up the magazine.
