I have beef with Supertramp’s
track “Logical Song”. I understand the overall message, and am glad I was never sent to boarding school- what a horrid seeming thing.
However…

Also maligned lyrically: intellectual, clinical, dependable.
Those are all good and virtuous things. How very dare “they”.
Later we’re advised “watch what you say, they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh, fanatical, criminal.

I suspect you missed the sarcasm.
It makes complete sense when you consider it is railing against the *authoritarian* definition of those words rather than their general meaning.
And just *look* at who is calling whom "radical, liberal, fanatical, criminal" right now!
