A while ago I had upgraded from factory speakers in my ride to Polk speakers, then subsequently upgraded two of the Polks to a larger diameter, leaving me with two unneeded coaxial drivers. As they are coaxial (meaning there is a tweeter in the middle of a midrange) and have a capacitor to cancel sounds below 80Hz, I shouldn’t need any crossover network. I found some 3D printable files for 3” speakers and scaled them up to 4” size.

I printed the spheres with 50% triangle infill. They are CHONK! That’s nearly an entire 1kg spool per sphere at that density. Glad I got these Elegoo Rapid PLA’s for about $12 each :)

I have a trim ring yet to print. What color should I make those? Copper? Lime green? Blood red?
