@Parrah 20 years ago I had to stop at an Urgent care clinic in Pigeon Ford TN when on a cross country trip. Overheard a discussion in the waiting room about how long a person could live. “Well, Methuselah lived to be 900.” … And the argument went on from there.

@okika_hilo Yes, powerful greedy persons always sought moral justification. But in pre-modern times that was the “divine right” of Kings. Modern conservatism has elevated capitalism to a sanctified principle, legitimating greed as the divine (unknowable) working of the Invisible Hand.
