WINTER SOLSTICE THIS WEEK: Note on the full disk satellite image this morning the terminator (the line separating daylight from darkness) is tilted at around 23 degrees. This means we are very close to the winter solstice; it comes Thursday night at 9:27 CT.
After Thursday, we will slowly begin to see increasing amounts of daylight over the northern hemisphere. We have already seen our earliest sunset time of the year.
@MisterE it cannot come soon enough for me. I prefer more daylight hours. π π
@MisterE
Had my hip replaced on the Solstice last year, so 1st anniversary is nigh...
Was hit by a car on September 21, 1981... so I have one of the Equinox ticked off my list.
Two to go...
