@danialexis I found a very different study recently from thebibleproject.com , which doesn't follow the usual pattern. But I wasn't actually aware of your fun fact! 🙃
@wolfwoman @danialexis The issue with the "Read the bible in a year is there is no research included. What do I mean by that? A Baptist preacher told me that "dancing is forbidden due too, lust, drinking and every time a dance was held in the bible calamity followed". He gave me the tools to research seeing as there was no Net yet, a Strong's Concordance. He was only 1/2 right, 7 times yes and 7 times no! Observe
@Mikethewander1 @wolfwoman For me, the entire point of the project this year has been to read the Bible without commentary - just to see what's there and follow my own interpretational instincts.
I've done the study guide thing, but I have never just...listened. It completely changed my relationship to this library (not the least in that I no longer call the Bible a "book" or think of it as a single unit).
@wolfwoman @danialexis "The Bible a "book" or think of it as a single unit". It's not.
Is the Bible history?
It mentions some places and events that are indeed historical BUT does that make it a history book? NO!
My Dad is a Vietnam War Veteran and we KNOW Vietnam exists, wrote and published a book with the backdrop of the Vietnam War- FOUR years ago. Other than that the book is pure fiction!
NO "biblical archaeology". Other than some places and events, it is NOT a history book!
@danialexis @wolfwoman LOL I need more coffee, sorry about that.
@Mikethewander1 @wolfwoman Normally I'd say "don't do drugs," but I can say from experience that caffeine is way better than arguments as a fuel source. 😆
@Mikethewander1 @wolfwoman Yes, hence why I have abandoned the idea that it is.
I get the sense that you think you're in an argument here, but you have yet to say anything I disagree with.
