I’ve been to the Alamo countless times and am still amazed it’s right in the heart of the city. San Antonio is such a lovely place. I live two hours south.
When I moved to Texas, the first thing I did was read Michener’s book “Texas” which is brilliant historical fiction but it gave me an understanding of Texas history. The first time I visited the Alamo, I unconsciously looked for the names of fictional characters who died there-:)
@evamarie So, you already knew all of this! 🤓
I did! But I love your posts anyway-:)
@evamarie ☺️ 😌
@MichaelTalon @evamarie Forgive my lack of clarity(due to having a stroke), but isn't Custer buried in West Point?
@RJMay3 Yup with pieces of corn cobs in his ears so he would listen better in the afterlife.
@MichaelTalon I lived in NY and sure I saw his headstone when I went to watch a football game.
@evamarie you would like to learn about a genuine historical mystery? We don't know exactly where the remains of the Defenders of The Alamo are. We also only have one location of the pyres.
