Ancestors found in someone's mom's attic
Disposed of (to me π) because their names are unknown
"Yes, I'll gladly buy those from you"
Attic finds usually have the least wear

My husband got rid of his step dad's pictures, Christening documents, etc. His line ended, and he was abusive.
Great photos and absolutely beautiful frames. I also have some "found" ancestors from the attic of the first house we bought.
I love the quote (source?), "Yes, they're my ancestors--I bought them and now they're mine."
@Mathias such beautiful memories of someone's family
What will you do with the photos?
@ATXJane Take them apart for a cleaning. New hanging hardware, backboard, and sealing tape. Hopefully to keep them alive for a few more decades. And then probably sell them on Fakebook or a flea market.
But sadly, most people are buying the bubble glass for things like bug collections.
@Mathias those are in fantastic condition! I used to do photo retouching full time when that was a thing and I did tons of these things.
@rebus They are. Just a few dings along the edges. I hope to look that good After 100+ years.
@Mathias
It's always sad to me to find old photos in antique/junk stores. Maybe they didn't leave descendants. Maybe their descendants don't care. Maybe the wrong descendants got ahold of these, but others would have loved to have them. (And, maybe they were awful people. Never know.) I have my dad's baby picture in the old frame with the bubble glass (1929). I don't have any old originals from mom's side. She had 9 siblings who all lived closer to home. They probably got most of it. π
