I must be living a very sheltered life. When did the American dollar start being worth so little🤔 a pick up truck for $80,000, a Jeep SUV starting at $90,000 to over $100,000. For a F*CKING automoblie😨😜 Why would anyone pay that much money for something that after 3 years will be worth less than what is owed on it. Jeez🤷♀️
@MallyDaKatt
It's crazy, right?
Prices skyrocketed when dealers found people would pay as much for a 3 year lease as they would pay to own a car.
And then bonus--the dealer gets to sell the car again!
There also must be at least $10k in all of the electronics
You can pay less
I bought a new Toyota Tacoma v6 4x4 for "only" $32k. Yes, it's a striped down model and yes, it's the most I've ever paid for a vehicle
@BrentSullivan
I am driving my brand new in 2008 Toyota Matrix. 107,000 miles now.
Hopefully I can get another 100,000 miles out of it. I traded a 1992 Corolla wagon with 247,000 miles for the Matrix. I got a whopping $800 trade value🤷♀️ Actually more than I thought I would get.
@MallyDaKatt IDK if the value will drop that much. The cost of vehicles in general jumped up w Covid and never came down. Greed partly, but that huge pay increase the UAW got isn't going to help.
Here's one explainer why pickup prices went up: https://www.gearpatrol.com/cars/a39049386/why-are-pickup-trucks-expensive/
