Bit of a choppy game so far. Green Bay's already burned 2 timeouts. Eagles have already turned the ball over twice. Both teams got nailed for 12 men on the field...at the same time. One Eagles player lost his footing on the field & fell. Packers player slipped & fell in the end zone. Packers unable to take advantage Eagles' mistakes & have to settle for 2 FGs. 5 penalties by Packers in the 1st quarter.
Eagles get 1st TD of the game in the 2nd quarter. There's some issues with the field conditions. I've counted 4 players slipping so far. Packers have already burned all their timeouts. They used their last one less than 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter. Packers fail on 2 point conversion, but are leading 12-7. Eagles retake the lead with Saquon Barkley's 2nd TD of the game. Jayden Reed gets his 2nd TD of the game. Packers up 19-14. Game has really opened up after an underwhelming 1st quarter.
Packers up 19-17 at the half. They showed a small part of the half-time performance by Brazilian pop singer Anitta, & let's just say there's a lot of twerking. I don't think I'll be watching the full performance when it's available. Eagles get early TD & are up 24-19 in the 3rd quarter. Packers respond with a TD & are up 26-24. That roughing the passer penalty against the Eagles was very questionable. I won't argue against the pass interference penalty though.
Barkley's absolutely torching the Packers in this game. Jordan Love's having a rough time out there. Packers missed a 43 yard FG attempt, but eventually make a 26 yard FG to be down 31-29. The ref's voice is really hoarse from all those penalty calls. Eagles miss a chance to score a TD because of a botched hand-off & have to settle for a FG. 34-29 Eagles. Uh-oh, Love has to be taken off the field. Eagles end game by sacking the Packers backup QB. Okay game despite bad field & penalties.
Final thoughts: neither Jordan Love nor Jalen Hurts were very good. Hurts fumbled twice & threw 2 picks including one in the end zone. Love only completed half his passes & got picked off twice. On the other hand Barkley & Reed were excellent for their respective teams. The field conditions were pretty sloppy & there were a ton of penalties. The game got off on a rocky start, but really picked up in the 2nd & 3rd quarters. Not a bad game overall. Hopefully Love isn't hurt to badly.
