PSA - Some of you may have noticed increased security measures on login & registration pages. We have identified an uptick in bogus accounts registering from eastern block nations that satellite Russia (Russian IP space is banned).

Looks like they are trying to skirt our geo-block.

The measures have been put in place with legitimate users in mind - cause the least hassle for legitimate traffic, but unsustainable inconvenience for bad guys.

All of the accounts (there were a lot) registered emails followed a distinct format. GMAIL domain, none of them confirmed there email, and now cannot do so, so they haven't been interacting with the community.

The nations they were skirting via include, Slovakia, Slovenia, Belarus, Bosnia, Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, Serbia, Hungary, Poland, Estonia and Romania.

Their tradecraft was slack, as they were easily identifiable and dealt with.

^^^ PS: It's worth noting we were able to detect this nefarious activity, and squash it BEFORE they actually activated and posted anything into your timelines and feeds.
