@WestofMars Period from Nov to March when the winds kick strong off the Sahara desert. In severe events can lead to respiratory problems for people outside and can affect air traffic as well

@WestofMars It can be really bad. Spent a week there back in the 80's (GET OFF MY LAWN!) and spent significant time once back inside coughing and trying to get all the dirt accumulated out of my nose
