I am hearing a lot of talk about "the govt restricting our access to the internet..."

Why are we thinking that? Isn't the internet how they got here in the first place?

My 13yo daughter had a major breakdown yesterday. She knows. She knows and she understands and I wish she didn't.

🎧 Lots of "albums for the moment" spinning in the studio these last few days. Midnight Oil's "Earth and Sun and Moon" is about as close to a concept album album as they ever got. Most of the songs read like a diary of a person coming to terms with their country's ever changing mood and landscape, for worse more than better. Feeling lost in a nation they no longer recognize and pining for simpler times, with less "stuff" and more nature.

🎧 About an hour ago - I thought to myself, "self, you are really mega-pissed off right now, but you have work and family and a thousand things are happening at once and you need to f-u-c-k-i-n-g maintain....dude". so yeah, i have to stay chill for the people that rely on me. But then I remembered what I used to do when i was YOUNG and angry that always got me over the hill.

The Who's "Quadrophenia" is now challenging my studio monitors to a bare knuckle brawl.

There's a guy who lives in a broken down piece of shit house and drives a rusted out POS to a shitty job for minimum wage, chain smokes and drinks a 12 of PBR every Friday night. He's got stupid kids and en ex-wife who hates his guts and makes his life miserable. He hates gays and immigrants. He's got a Trump sticker on his car and a MAGA hat he bought at a rally with his scratch off money.

Let's check in with that asshole in 4 years and see how much his life has improved.

Slept about two hours. Soon, I will have to explain to my kids, again, that their country is about to take a very bad turn., and apologize to them for the future they about to endure. I'll tell you this, my daughter will NEVER go any place unaccompanied again. She's 13 and I have to start walking her to the bathroom in restaurants again. If any of you live in central Indiana, just know that me and my family are allies and our home is a safe place. We all need to circle the wagons right now.

I'm about to start recording the next episode of my podcast. That's how I'm spending my Election Night, listening to some new music with my good friend and talking about the bands. When we're done...I'll check in and see if we still have a democracy.

I know there is a lot going on today but this is my 8th day without coffee.. Not feeling any different, but my breff don't stank.

How much do i envy her? Sleeping soundly emitting doggie snores, with absolutely no idea of anything. She senses when we are unhappy or stressed, and doubles down on her love for us. How awesome it must be to have no worries, to be blissful, and content, at a time like this. Good luck, America. Your dogs are watching over you. We could all learn from them.

I was functionally-sick all last week so i was jamming 2-3 hot teas a day. Without thinking about it I seem to be “off-coffee”. Been seven days now with no bean. Have i become….gulp…a “leafer”?
