@Helical_Code
Agreed - I don't even consider that as singing.
Apparently I have two "go-to" critiques of lead singers:
1. I love the way they deliver the lyrics
2. They sound like someone taking a hard shit in a gas station rest room

I may spend the rest of the day workshopping this.
@process
Good stuff!
@sfleetucker
Yeah that's a block from me as well.

I vote for it to rhyme with "gushy". Rhyming it with "sushi" makes it sounds like "jew-shi" which is my nickname for lox. What's "jushy" mean?
Most social media platforms goad you into some version of piousness, whether you're on the right side of things or not. It's always about trying to prove someone else wrong.
Counter Social is the only SM site i can think of that just makes me want to be a better person, to do good things, and to be a part of a community.
That's the difference. This place doesn't make me want to REACT, it makes me want to ACT.
🎧 The Mysterines, "Afraid of Tomorrows". One of my most anticipated 2024 releases. Lia Metcalfe is a tough chick with "don't fuck with me" vibes to spare. But on the band's second full length she's showing some cracks in the armor, and the music reflects that - there's a wider spectrum of moods here. The brashness of their early singles is still in there, but this is a more experienced Mysterines, painting with a bigger brush and more colors.

It's never too late. I played in bands and wrote songs all thru my thirties. Yeah, life happened. When I was 53 I finally did a proper studio recording of some of my songs with some really top flight musicians. Not for fame or money or even attention - just so I could finally say "i did it". So yes - pick up your tool of creation and make something. It's very satisfying. Cheers.
@MLClark
Wasn’t that a Jon Waters movie?
@Mfieck
Is the reverb nation link in your profile the place to hear the music that comes out of that room?
@Mfieck
I'm envious - that is a very cool home studio space.
@willmckinley
NICE! We took our 3 "kids" to see it last night.
Continuing my journey through Doctor Who. I watched the double whammy "Silence in the Library"/"Forest of the Dead" and damn what a mind-f**k. I have to assume that at some point the show's quality starts to degrade but right now this may be my favorite TV show ever. #cosotv
@LiberalLibrarian
Flash by name! Flash by nature! WHOOOOFFF!
@JohnRadcliff
Boomtown Rats not so much - although I thought In The Long Grass was pretty good. XTC absolutely a fan, since Big Express. I literally walked a mile in a snowstorm to buy Oranges and Lemons.
