🎧 Black Country New Road, "Live at Bush Hall". Released today. BCNR is going thru some stuff. Just before releasing a highly anticipated soph album their de facto leader dropped out. Now, they have re-grouped and recorded an entire albums worth of new music live. A bold move. I'm not sure I am loving BCNR Mach 2, a lot of the tension that made the first album so endearing has been wiped. But, the music is still adventurous and quite thrilling.
@MPCavalier I've seen comparisons to the Joy Division/New Order experience (poor Ian died though, of course) where the next album is hard, but then BCNR arise as something different but still cool. Maybe too facile a comparison but it would be nice.
@pr10n Hey if you wanna see something really cool - the entire BCNR concert was released for free on you tube. It's a concentration of three uniquely themed shows - really cool idea. And yeah this album has really grown on me.
