🎧 Nate Smith, " Kinfolk 2: See The Birds " I'm a bassist/guitarist which also makes me a frustrated drummer, so when I heard Nate Smith on NPR's jazz show this w/e of course I was intrigued. There is no adjective to describe this guy's drumming. The way he combines meters so effortlessly, playing ahead and behind, it's all so fluid. His compositions have a lot of range too, and the album as a whole is a seminar in current jazz and fusion styles.
