🎧 Yes, "Relayer". The 70's prog standard bearers answered the question "can they make a more interminable album than Topographic Oceans?" with a resounding....well....YES. I love it. It's everything people hated about this band. But the musical twists here blow Close To The Edge out of the water. And the lyrics were based on a book people had actually read. I've seen them play "Gates of Delirium" live and it was awe inspiring. @enceladus knows what I'm talking about. #cosomusic #MPNP

Yeah it just hit that awesome break down at the end of the "battle" sequence, with Moraz leaning into that badass riff. I could live another 50 years and still never figure out how to play this song on ANY instrument!

The Gates Of Delerium is most beloved piece of music. I was lucky to see the Epic tour, talk about blissed out!!! 💜💚❤️
Excellent post.
@Mfieck @enceladus
I saw the tour where it was mostly side long epics - RItual, Gates, Close to the Edge. I thought Chris and Alan were going pass out during Gates. So freaking challenging. Amusing sidenote: we sat 6th row and Squire was wearing spandex. My wife commented, "that's a little more of Chris Squire than I need to see....who ordered the fish balls?"
@MPCavalier @enceladus
That's hilarious.
That was the same tour. Opening band was Kansas. In the car home I borrowed a phrase from Mr. Show exclaiming, "I saw the shit out of that!" There really were no words.
@Mfieck @enceladus
That's right!!! KANSAS! Holy crap.
@MPCavalier @enceladus
As I suggested, utter bliss.
@MPCavalier @enceladus Amazing album! “Gates of Delirium” blows my mind every single time.
