🎧 The Like, "Release Me". Mark Ronson-produced 60's girl-group revival, fronted by the daughter of the A&R guy at the label that released it. If you can get past the nepotism, this is a very good record. Ronson nailed the AM radio sound, the bass rumbles/the organ cuts, and vocalist Z Berg had the knack for merging L.A. pop lyrics with Brill Building melodies. Tennessee Thomas (daughter of Attraction Pete Thomas) got the beats just right. Released 2010.
