New just dropped! 😍

Look at this absolute unit, trucking along in the gentle rain with its shell all a-glistening. My favourite litle self-made homeowner-on-the-go.

Sadly, my new isn't supposed to be here. It's an invasive species in the region, so sightings have to be reported. πŸ˜₯ I ain't usually a snitch, but sometimes it's necessary.

@MLClark Snails are awesome. 🐌 We have many in our fish tanks. Two types, three snails in this picture 😍

@MLClark on closer inspection, I think I see 4!! The dark ones are really tiny

@IronButterfly

What beauties! They really tie the tank together. 😍

@MLClark Moving faster than some employees I've seen over the years. πŸ™„

@WordsmithFL

πŸ˜‚ I almost spewed my tea. Someone woke up choosing violence today!

@MLClark I was always a little embarrassed when we took tour groups into the VAB, because we'd see workers standing around doing nothing, or shuffling along so slowly you couldn't tell they were moving. They were being paid to stand around; there was nothing for them to do, but their jobs were assured due to politics.

@MLClark Once upon a time ... Circa 2012. The orbiters were being processed for transfer to museums. We usually had one or two parked in the VAB.

@WordsmithFL

πŸ€” Well by George (or by Charles, I suppose), who's that distinguished fellow up front, taking attention from the orbiter?

@MLClark Off to camera right is High Bay 4. If Atlantis was in the transfer file, then Endeavour probably was in HB-4. You stood under the left wing of Atlantis to view Endeavour. Those were fun times.

These are from the Launch Control Center tour around the same time, Firing Room 4, which was used for the last 20 Shuttle launches. Today it's the SpaceX launch control for 39A.

@WordsmithFL

πŸ™‚ Your pride and pleasure in the work radiate clearly in these photos!

@MLClark I would love to have seen you do this job. You would have excelled at it. The story tellers were the best communicators.

@MLClark oh you writers. Just because you threw words together doesn’t make it true. Dogs and shells mix. 😜

@CanisPundit

Was sending me a picture of four perfectly normal dogs supposed to change my mind? πŸ˜…

@MLClark Yes, we had that a couple years ago with the Chinese Spotted Lanternflys here in . "They" (the government) wanted reports on where they were seen and in what stage of life.

Last year and this year weren't so bad. I guess people killed enough of them it made a difference. That, and they've moved along to cause trouble some place else. We still have some, but not near as bad.

@GeezerWench

Those lanternflys are beautiful, though! Necessary to kill, but it's possible to appreciate the species while doing so. Every little critter on this good Earth is just out there doing its best in the hustle to survive.

@MLClark They are very colorful. Quite pretty. Even the nymphs are kinda cute with all the polka dots, but they don't belong here!
