I'll still take getting slobbered on by a bitey pupper over being slobbered on by an Old Enough To Know Better neighbour getting handsy in the park, though, I tell you what! 😅 What a week.
Oh, that was on Saturday. An older fellow who's been polite enough when I see him closer to my building (i.e., around other people), took my hand and wouldn't let go in the park, wrapped his arm around my waist, and started necking before I pushed him off. Some dudes here will take any opportunity, and I'd let my guard down because he's different around our neighbours. I was furious this weekend--he crapped on my feeling of safety in my 'hood--but I'm back to moving carefully.
I try not to clock seniors, but BOY HOWDY, this senior was asking for it.
@MLClark no kidding, fam.
Maybe I should've kept the dog, eh? 😅
(Joking, can't take care of one in my situation, but still. Two problems solved in one go if I could, eh?)
@MLClark I'm picturing you walking off in a picturesque sunset, a canine silhouette by your side.
M: "let's go home."
Pup: *nods*
@MLClark maybe not today, but soon. 💜
Aw, very sweet.
🤗 How's your own day startin'? More stoner talk from the wee one? Noggin' filled with good vibes?
So far, so good, kopeng.
@MLClark Time to sharpen your elbows!
@MLClark Ewww! Are you able to keep them at a safe distance ?
Yes indeed. Now that I know he's not safe to be alone with, I make sure that I'm always well-situated around other neighbours when he comes by. It adds to the mental calculus I have to do on my route, but it's manageable. I will always be seen as "exotic" and "available" just for existing in public here, but after years of this nonsense* one learns how to navigate the annoyance.
*Not that I wasn't harassed in Canada, too. I guess I've had to watch my routes around neighbours for a while!
@MLClark
Handsy neighbour? You okay? 💜
