@MLClark Uhhhhngggg.
@MLClark I used to be into competition ballroom dancing. The business has a lot of gays in it. I don't know how widespread it is, but the male gays at my dance school were incredibly bigoted against bisexuals of either gender. Called them fence-sittting cowards.
It makes me wonder where they'd be at politically and socially today.
Some of the strongest biphobia I've experienced is from lesbians and gay men.
Although, sadly, I've also known bisexual women who "don't believe" in bisexual men, so prejudice knows no bounds!
A lot of folks just struggle with the idea of life not being a series of easy categorical baskets. I've had people flat-out tell me that you simply "can't" be attracted to both female and male bits. The mere concept makes some brains go kablooey. 🙃
(Which is why we can't have nice things!)
@MLClark (Nods with a deep sigh.)
Queer woman here.
People speak about Leslie Feinberg's book like it was a lesbian Bible. Must read the second you come out. I disagreed.
At the end of the book, they detail going back to Buffalo to find some of their butch friends in relationships with butches. They were perplexed. Narrow-minded. And against it.
That was the part that made me think what are we endorsing here? Queer on queer non-acceptance.
Do any and everyone if that makes you happy.
@MLClark @TwiHusband humans! Right?
@TwiHusband @MLClark I'm an ally of the fence sitters. What whatever one does with their fence is none of my business.
Seriously, I've seen similar kinds of commentary in articles addressing conflict between trans and lesbian communities. More segmentation by identity rather than a focus on universal human sexual rights and equality under the law.
@TwiHusband @MLClark I guess it is time for me to post an imperfect, idealist attempt to bring dignity to the world in the shadow of WWII, The UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

100%. It's a neoliberal form of activism that lures us into thinking that human rights are contingent on whether others accept your label/identity.
Human rights either exist for all or they do not exist. Anything less than that, and, well... *gestures at the world today*.
@MLClark
The frenemy ally. 🙄
