This is silly, I know.
This past Christmas was my first in years when I couldn't go out with hampers for street folk.
Too much debt.
And yet, the person who left us posted about doing *such* good deeds at Xmas.
And I'll never know how much truth there was in that. Did this person help people closer to home? Or was their world-grief after donating a lie?
At the time, I was comforted by the thought that someone else was helping even when I couldn't.
That comfort feels very, very bitter now.

It's hard to keep perspective when so much divisiveness and outrage is being pumped out of the firehose of mainstream and social media. It's pervasive and meant to create strong emotions and income for the sources.
I look around where I live and the people in my life and I see warm friendly caring helpful people who have generous hearts. I don't see what the media portrays. Media/social media (not CoSo) and I live in totally different worlds. β¨ π

I live in a rural area. There's a monthly food bank, a truck comes from the nearest large city.
Local people (all income levels) show up to organize and package the food before it's distributed.
For most, "local" means a drive of 20 miles/32 km (more or less) to get there - nothing is close here.
People help.β¨
