Off for a run. Didn't sleep well, but I was still up before the alarm.
Someone dear to me is struggling very much right now, a world away, and there's very little I can do.
In Kazantzakis's Last Temptation, there's a scene where the child-Christ cries out "God, make me God! God, make me God!" (you can see why the church hated this book 😉) and I think about how often we humans ache to have the power to fix... oh, everything.
But sometimes we're just smart enough to know how little we can do. 🕊️
Thank you, Marion. ❤️
No solutions, but I'm grateful to know I'm not alone with the struggle to find acceptance in what we cannot change.
Many thanks for your kind presence with this sorrow. May the rest of the day open beautifully for you. 🤗
@MLClark
I feel this so deeply. I’m sorry you are experiencing this ache; maybe accepting how little we can do eases the feeling of desperation that can accompany our inability to fix things. Or maybe not… I find myself caught in this place.
I hope your morning run freed your heart and mind to some degree❤️
