My fever brain would *not* let this go, but my goodness, 2023 needs to end.
Today's year-end round-up covers five core issues for the world this year: AI hype cycles, climate change and inaction, union power, war, and far right extremism - in the world as in the US.

Stuey! Isn't it getting near the hour where you are? Thanks so much for spending some of your New Year's Eve with this piece.
I hope you're enjoying exactly the kind of end-of-year you prefer - ideally surrounded by warmth, loved ones, and a few scrumptious nibbles, too!
Either way, may the coming morn break beautifully - and may the New Year keep you and yours very well. 🤗
@MLClark We're three hours from 2024.
I have a feeling, a premonition even, that it'll be tough but that unexpectedly swift progress will occur in many important areas. I get a sense that the world will breathe many collective sighs of relief in the year ahead.
Here's to you and yours 🥂
