In honour of Benjamin Zephaniah, here's "We Refugees". He wasn't able to read and write until his teens. He brought so much to the world via books, poetry, and activism - even though most news outlets are highlighting him solely re: Peaky Blinders.
He contained multitudes.
"We can all be refugees
Nobody is safe,
All it takes is a mad leader
Or no rain to bring forth food,
We can all be refugees
We can all be told to go,
We can be hated by someone
For being someone."
