Canada turned away Jewish refugees in WWII, in large part because of its many Germanic settlers. (Berlin, Ontario was changed to Kitchener, but we still have a Swastika, Ontario!)
Canada also resettled Ukrainians after WWII who'd fought with the Nazis. And before he inspired our current hate speech laws, Ernst Zundel spread Holocaust denial.
So we definitely don't have a perfect record. Neo-Nazis crop up wherever white people feel economically disadvantaged and in need of a scapegoat.
