One volunteer task involves work for an editor who passed last year.
Obviously, when I die I'll cease to exist and no longer care what's said about me, but I always think the best tributes for the dead would resemble elementary school report cards:
Played well with others.
Always helped with the animals, plants, and clean-up.
Sat with the new kid at lunch.
Still working on self-regulation with big feelings, but trying their best.
And the crème de la crème?
"A pleasure to have in class."
Mine said: "Lise is encouraged not to laugh when other students engage in disruptive behaviour." π
Ha! You menace!
Funnily enough, my kindergarten report card was read while I was receiving a high school graduation science bursary. My history teacher (for some reason the person presenting the award) had found it so remarkable that nothing had really changed about my character in all that time. It didn't include any of the above statements, but spoke of a highly precocious and sensitive kiddo - and he only revealed at the last that it was from an assessment made when I was 4. π
