Okay, loves. I'm getting the sillies out of my system for the next hour, before final, late-night revisions.

What is one spectacularly spooky thing you'd like to do this month?

I will accept all answers except "get my life in order": there's spooky, and then there's just plain freaky. ๐Ÿ™ƒ Save that weirdo nonsense for the new year!

@MLClark There's a youtube recording already, so yes.
I'm talking about getting into the studio with it for a new album.

Oh, how utterly splendid, Stuey. In order of reaction:

1) You have a wonderful voice & practised ease with theatrical inflections.

2) I could easily imagine the Peanuts crew going through a teen goth phase where they sing songs just like this.

3) I look forward to the album! The vibe of this piece was terrific, and I'm excited to see how the overall atmosphere of the album carries it forward.

4) Also looking forward to hearing you carol now, but that's still a season off! ;)

@MLClark
Thank you! The coming album will be comprised entirely of songs commissioned by cosonauts. So far I have one song already in the can.

@stueytheround

Oh my. Knowing how varied our tastes are, that is sure to be an intriguing album! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you for such a lovely community-building project. I look forward to hearing your voice many times over again!

@MLClark Take a ride through the woods in an off road vehicle of some sort snuggled up next to someoneโ€ฆ.at night.

I have no someone so Iโ€™ll just imagine it happening. Iโ€™d probably get attacked by night creatures (spiders,bugs) anyway, then scream, and get tossed out of the ride and have to walk home, through the woods, in the dark. (Please ignore my incorrect punctuation..)

@Novels56

๐Ÿ˜ฌ Since this is the season of monkey's paw mayhem, I might suggest being a bit more particular about that "someone", or you might end up snogging a skeleton!* Otherwise, I love it. Great plan.

*I mean, no kink shaming if that's your thing, but then DEFINITELY wish carefully, so you don't end up with a regular old meat sack instead! ๐Ÿ™ƒ

@MLClark I've never done it but would love to have a grown-up Halloween Trivia Night. Everyone dressed up, having spooky snacks & grown up drinks, etc (and maybe a couple of scary films thrown in), but with a trivia game. It would coveri everything from the Salem Witch Trials, Mathew Hopkirk, James I/VI, right through to questions like "What was Nicole Kidman's character's name in Practical Magic?"

@BillyBones

This is beautifully wholesome, BillyBones. I imagine the last few years of pandemic haven't made it easy to plan for such a thing, but I can't imagine folks not saying "heck yes!" to partaking.

Would it be feasible to pull off this year, do you think?

@MLClark Thanks! I enjoy Halloween (actually everything from today up until New Years Eve is magical for me) but don't do gore - I'm too squeamish! I'm all about the fun side of these next 3 months & even host a month-long Christmas Countdown/party for my friends on FB that's going into its 13th year!). So something like this would be a ball for me!

1/2...

@MLClark 2/2

Sadly I could have pulled it off a few years ago, but people move and yes, there are fewer face to face things like this now. We're good friends with multiple Pagans, some of whom used to host fun parties along similar lines (but without the full dressup thing), but they fizzled out too.

And a quick aside - I've been acknowledging these when I come across them - you chose a wonderful Halloween screen name! ๐Ÿงก

@MLClark I'm sure you saw a pic I share here from time to time of the most fun I had one Halloween when we played at The Cavern Club in Liverpool where we were the house band for a while. We all dressed up and had a ball.

My bassist went on to do a stint in a band Richard O'Brien (Rocky Horror) put together where it was basically Halloween every night. The only stipulation, that didn't bother my friend, was that he had to be a girl for all appearances ๐Ÿคฃ (I won't share those pics here!)

@BillyBones

Oh, what a joyous event it sounds like that was! I mean, quite a step away from a rad trivia night party with friends at home, but there's a Hallowe'en event for every season in our lives, eh?

Thanks for sharing the fun! I hope you get the lovely, spooky, but not *too* sordid season of delights you'd prefer!

@MLClark I intend to call forth a shade to ask questions and advice. Does that count?

@AskTheDevil

Wholeheartedly!

Are you shade-specific or will any visitor from that realm suffice?

@MLClark It'll be someone specific - an old friend. : )

@MLClark I feel like it's me doing the haunting. ; )

@MLClark I'd like to claim I'm very good at it, but that would be lying and lying is wrong.
; )

I'm better at making omelets.

But then, that's easier than summoning the shades of the dead, so maybe I shouldn't beat myself up.
