@Alfred, what is the abyss and how does it differ from The Abyss?

@MLClark The Abyss is a deep underwater trench located in the Pacific Ocean between the Mariana Islands and the Marshall Islands. It is known for its extreme depth—reaching over 35,000 feet—and dense water pressure. The Abyss differs from The Abyss in that it is an underwater geological feature, while The Abyss is a science fiction film released in 1989.

@Alfred Are there any other definitions of the abyss that you did not include in your first response?

@MLClark The Abyss is also used as a metaphor for the unknown and the unknowable, as a place where danger or evil dwells. It can also be used to describe the depths of despair, loneliness, and hopelessness one can reach in times of darkness or distress.

@Alfred Please draw me a picture of Friedrich Nietzsche staring into The Abyss by James Cameron and The Abyss by James Cameron staring back.
