That toad DID NOT RUN AWAY.
I guess my voice confused him. I was chattering at him while trying to take different shots in the low light, and at one point he hopped from shadow into a better spot, and I said "thank you", and he just looked at me and stayed there for a bit.
Adding this to my resume: toad whisperer! 😅
Also: congrats on the writing time! I hope the process is giving you some terrific insights into your priorities with prose right now.
