Oh wise and brilliant CoSo:
Does anyone know of (or is anyone here working on) just such a research system for local school board elections? I'd love to direct this commenter to a resource if it exists.
@researchbuzz, any thoughts?
@MLClark What kind of tracking? Criminal records? News mentions? Previous political disclosures?
@researchbuzz I suspect previous political disclosures is the main concern - but news mentions might also help, too!
@researchbuzz I'm not going to give out anything that localizes that particular user, but I will say that another commenter, who's openly disclosed that they're from Colorado, has expressed similar concerns. Could Colorado's 2023 school board elections be used as a starting point for those test searches?
Colorado School Board candidates have pages on Ballotpedia like so:
https://ballotpedia.org/Jennifer_Gibbons
I ran Jennifer Gibbons through NSNS, specifically Colorado media, and did find some things.
@researchbuzz I had assumed that the person was aware of Ballotpedia, and was looking for more direct warning signs of infiltration, which aren't as easy to find on the site... but you know what? I should not assume that they are aware of Ballotpedia! I will pass that rec on all the same. Thank you!~ 💪
@MLClark Another thing y'all might want to use is Twitter Receipts, which lets you search for someone's Twitter account on the Wayback Machine. Even if they've deleted certain, erm, "problematic" tweets, they might have ended up in the WM's permanent record.
@researchbuzz Oooo, that is another *excellent* recommendation. Thank you very kindly not only for your time but also all the experience that goes into every research request you answer! The labour is sorely appreciated. ❤️
@MLClark Oh you don't have tell me exactly! But like, is it a county in Colorado? Is it a statewide thing? Is it by city? That helps me calibrate what level of government I should be looking at.
