🕊️ Okay, folks.

Part 2 of 4 today, in a deep-dive series for .

We continue our look at Israeli state politics by interrogating Western complicity in Middle Eastern trauma.

Before we can reckon honestly with the internal state crisis under Netanyahu, we need to own up to the self-serving reasons why Western powers intervened in regional politics in the past.

Still not an easy topic!

But definitely important for returning dignity to all.

@MLClark A somewhat related topic is western boycotts of investments in Israel. This segment of On The Media discusses the documentary and the linkages between the Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs, the evangelical movement in the U.S., (American Legislative Exchange Council) and big business which resulted in boycotts of any business whatsoever not being protected speech in the states covered by the federal appeals court for 8th district.

@peterquirk Oh, terrific. Downloaded for my evening run, thank you!

@MLClark To what extent do the current struggles in Israel owe their genesis to the failure to define a constitution?

@peterquirk Ahhh you're getting ahead of me! I talk about that in Part 3, when I outline the structure of Israeli government and its current actors. 😅 The slings and arrows of posting a multipart deep-dive series.

(Boycotts also come up in Part 4, which is explicitly titled to think about the global struggle to overcome national strife. But the deep dive podcast into US laws shaped by evangelical interests especially is a welcome listen all the same!)

@MLClark I'll watch out for the subsequent articles!
