Hunker down.

I spent 7 yrs in hurricane alley on St Croix. Evacuation was not an option so you prepared in advance, screwed your window shutters down (except for westerly back door) & made a nest in the closet with pets, food, water & weather radio.

During eye passing over, take dogs out to do their business & hunker down again before the other wall hits.
