Spotted Elk is seated in the middle row, third from left, holding the fan. Standing directly behind him is his father Lone Horn, who signed the treaty with him and his brother She Elk Voice Walking at Fort Laramie in 1868. To the left of Lone Horn is Tall Mandan who is another relative, ancestor to Pete and Angela Richards, who are also descendants of Spotted Elk.
