The latest episode of Cinema Therapy on YouTube raises an interesting idea.
In the "real world", people are generally expected by society to be nice and kind and good to others. So negativity towards others gets suppressed.
But once they get online, with the anonymity that games and social media and other interactive sites provide, that societal pressure to "be nice" is gone, so all that suppressed negativity is free to be expressed, whether warranted or not.
