"Unfortunately, you did not get my vote. We are not only locals,; my husband's family were Vermont residents that settled the land in Calais, VT in the late 1700's. His grandfather in 1947 named "Mirror Lake" when he was a representative in the legislature. My family came here 150 years ago from Ireland. All worked from poverty to make a life here." (part 2)
What, or rather who, are you talking about?
@Lulz4l1f3 Umm???? There's 2 posts?
Are these comments from people to you?
Thanks. I was missing a frame of reference.
So it's a kind of "I was a punk before you were a punk" thing?
OK, I did not know that about the land of Four Seasons: Early Winter, Mid Winter, Late Winter, and Next Winter (Sorry, that's a Burlington joke they sell on coffe muygs to tourists).
But thanks, I learned a thing.
@Lulz4l1f3 Yeah. If you talk anything public service or political, you get "My family has been here since" and they immediately discount your input. Some have even suggested that people should have to live here x number of years before they can run for office... and some say before they can vote on local issues. Sigh.
