Expert: Somebody who has been working in their niche specialty long enough to be considered and the integrity to admit what they don't know as well as what they do know.
Anybody can become a real expert. All you have to do is dedicate your life to knowing all you can about a single area and develop the self-awareness of the limits of your own knowledge and possess the integrity to carefully qualify what you relate about your field specialization.
@Lulz4l1f3 Yep. And my awareness about the limits of my knowledge of Entomology are brought home every time I learn something new. And see new unknown areas because of the new knowledge.
