Right, so when we think about living through a recession or depression, and the #tariffs of the #OrangeReich, that should change how we shop, consume, and garden. At least be thinking there could be less and everything will cost more. Get the things you absolutely need early, and not at the last minute. Buy bulk, if possible, to bring the price down. Realize that the supply chain will get worse and you may not always be able to source the consumables that you need.
@SandHillThicket Ive already ordered seeds and some have even arrived. May add another raised bed to the mix.
@Tarnagh @SandHillThicket extra canned chicken maybe - don't do tuna. I always keep well stocked on food fall is normal for to run out of space for home canned - frozen veggies and meals prepared in freezer. Always have 10-25lbs of flour and lots of dry beans, lentils, chick peas. Not a survival thing but I'm as worried about chips and computer parts as food. If your considering any upgrades etc and can, do it now.
I say canned veggies because it wouldn't surprise me to see electricity prices go through the roof along with everything else.
If we can't afford to run a fridge or deep freezer ... at least we'll have the canned stuff.
@Lucky188 @SandHillThicket
Yeah, I used tuna as a f'rinstance. Point being canned chicken or ham or anything people prefer. Canned veggies too.
Excellent advice on the computer upgrades! I hadn't thought of those!
