First time in the wood shop in a very long time. Making a quick-ish live edge cutting board for a coworkers wife. It’s going to be large (19” x 36”) and beautiful. One side is flattened and rough sanded already. Before and after pics of the first side.

@MountainMan Beautiful, its gotten rare to find a real wooden cutting board over the years. Only see Plastic and bamboo ones - plastic isnt food safe and I just dont see bamboo lasting.

I have all the types of cutting boards. Plastic is convenient cuz dishwasher safe but it’s plastic and actually can hold salmonella, etc in the score marks. Where real wood allows the contaminants to absorb to the center of the board where it dies due to lack of oxygen. Or so I’ve been told.
