Currently reading: Exploding Head, by Cynthia Marie Hoffman. It's a memoir in prose poems of growing up and living with OCD. In the first section of the book, which is set in her childhood, she mentions counting rituals, specifically involving fours. To assuage my own OCD, I counted the poems in the book. Sure enough, four sections, each with 16 (4x4) poems. I respect that. I do much the same thing in my own poetry with fives. Anyways, highly recommended.

@stephen_a_allen I didn't know you were in the club. 😁 I'm disabled mostly because of OCD. 👋🏻

@LowEndMuse Mine is comorbid with Tourette's Syndrome and is mostly controlled with the medications I take, although it does pop out from time to time.

@stephen_a_allen I have no Tourettes but I'm on a ton of medicine. It helps some, meditation helps the most for me. My OCD is mostly repetition. Rereading, counting... Things of that nature. It used to be debilitating, but I've built coping strategies over the last 25 years.💯
