@Coctaanatis Is been a minute since I've seen one of those. 😁
I was a drummer then and remember with our limited resources trying to make the decision of how to place mics in spots hoping to get 2 toms sounding good using 1 mic for the top two, one for floor tom, one for snare, one for kick drum and fuck the overheads.. It was a hilarious (not at the time) mess, due to lack of gear and knowledge. We got it to where it sounded like a passable demo and stopped. 😂
When we started we were expecting a high quality album. 😂 I was around 18 at the time. So naive. 😂
The few times I was recording myself on drums I used 2 mics, mostly over head and finding spots that seem to pick up most everything... Not good. but for what I was doing it worked... I think I did 3 tracks like that.
@LowEndMuse @Coctaanatis
I did a lot of my early home recording bouncing between a JVC boom box and my Pioneer CT9191, which at least had mic/line mixing. and decent metering
Pretty thankless work.
